Relive a year full of Handball. Championships, titles, Olympic Games, Beach exhibition in Paris and qualifiers marked an unforgettable year. From September to December we review the highlights at the end of 2024.
SEPTEMBER- HSCA U14 FEMALE AND MALE.
The COP Arena and the Olympic Training Center of Asuncion, Paraguay were witnesses of the handball party that took place in the South Central American U14 Men’s and Women’s Championship.
In the women’s category, Paraguay A won the tournament. Argentina took second place and Paraguay B won the bronze.
In the men’s division, Argentina shouted champion. Paraguay A and Chile completed the podium with second and third place respectively.

SEPTEMBER- HSCA U16 FEMALE AND MALE.
Another week full of handball was experienced in the Paraguayan capital, but this time with the U16 category of the South Central American Championship for Women and Men.
In ladies, Argentina dethroned Brazil and won the title. Paraguay A did the same and won the bronze medal.

In a tremendous final defined by details, Argentina was crowned champion in the men’s category. Brazil took second place and Chile third.

SEPTEMBER- WHEELCHAIR HANDBALL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
The Brazilian and Chilean teams were the South American representatives at the World Wheelchair Handball Championship held in Cairo, Egypt.
The bronze medal of the tournament remained in South American hands, after Brazil defeated France.
Chile lost to the United States in the quarterfinals and finished sixth in the World Cup .
OCTOBER- CLUB WORLD CUP
Cairo, Egypt, hosted the Club World Cup. Handebol Taubaté was the South American representative after being crowned champion of the men’s club SCA.
The team led by André Vinicius Mendes Silva finished eighth in the world championship.
OCTOBER- TROPHY + HANDBALL SCA MEN’S U-20
The Polideportivo Alexis Argüello in the city of Managua was the venue for the Trophy + SCA U20 Men’s Handball Trophy, which awarded three places to the World Cup in Poland.
Argentina won the title after beating Brazil in the final. Uruguay completed the podium. All 3 teams qualified for the World Cup.
Meanwhile, Nicaragua was crowned with the IHF Continental Trophy.

OCTOBER- TROPHY + HANDBALL SCA MALE SUB 18
Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay qualified for the next World Cup to be held in Egypt 2025, after winning first, second and third place, respectively, at the SCA U18 Handball Managua 2024.
In addition, Nicaragua won the IHF Continental Trophy.

NOVEMBER- HSCA SENIOR WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP NITERÓI
The CT stadium in Niteroi hosted the South and Central American Senior Women’s Championship, which awarded three places for the next World Cup in Germany/Netherlands 2025.
The Brazilian team won the tournament title. Argentina took second place and Uruguay completed the podium. All three teams qualified for the World Cup.

DECEMBER- BEACH HANDBALL SCA U17 MALE AND FEMALE
The Cavancha Arena in Iquique, Chile lived 3 unforgettable days of Beach Handball to receive the SCA U17 Championship in both branches.
The tournament awarded 2 places to the Tunisia 2025 World Cup in the women’s category and 3 places in the men’s category.
In the women’s division, Brazil was crowned champion and Uruguay took second place, both teams having earned tickets to the world championship. Argentina completed the podium.
In the men’s event, Argentina won the title after defeating Brazil in a great final. Uruguay won third place and the last place for the World Cup in Tunisia.
