The first day of the SCA Senior Handball has ended. The women’s competition is being played at the CT Niteroi stadium in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil took the victories of the day and took advantage thinking about the World Cup qualification.
ARGENTINA vs EL SALVADOR
In the inaugural match, La Garra was able to show its game and the ideas of its new coach Mariano Muñoz. On the other hand, El Salvador tried to play positional and be organized on offense. However, it was not enough and the Albiceleste dominated the game from start to finish.
It was a 45-9 victory for the Argentine National Team. Lucía Dalle Crode was the scorer with 9 goals and the MVP of the match.
CHILE vs PARAGUAY
Both teams took the field ready to win. Chile could not play counter-attacks or quick transitions. On the other hand, Paraguay managed the ball better and allowed them to be always on top of the scoreboard. In spite of this, the Chilean goalkeeper, Madeleine Cortez, prevented the difference from being greater. Paraguay won 28-21. Fátima Acuña scored 6 goals for Paraguay and Fernanda Insfran was elected MVP of the match.
BRAZIL vs URUGUAY
Brazil was the protagonist at the end. They dominated the match, despite Uruguay’s efforts. The Brazilians imposed themselves in defense to take the game to the attack with fast starts. The score was 17-9. In the second half, the locals knew how to take advantage of the defensive errors of the Uruguayans and won the game 34-20.
The top scorers were Bruna de Paula and Ana Claudia Bolzan with 5 goals each. The latter was elected MVP of the match.
