Kelly Rosa, central of the Brazilian national team is part of the roster of players who will compete in the SCA Senior Women’s Handball Championship to be held from November 26 to 30 in the city of Niteroi in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

The locale will undoubtedly be a plus for the Brazilian team, which after several years will once again compete with the support of its people.

Preparation and concentration

Brazil’s national team is coming to the end of an intense year of competitions and training camps. Shis coach, Cristiano Rocha, said that the team’s preparation is focused on the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic cycle. This cycle began in September with a tournament in Portugal where a squad with several young players participated, among them was summoned Kelly Rosa, who was also present in the tournament. Kelly Rosa, who was also present at the Carpathian Trophy in Romania.

How is the team in general physically?

  • After winning all the matches in that tournament, it was the first phase in which most of the players who went to the Olympic Games were present. We started this new cycle with some players missing due to injury, but in general we are doing well. We have a lot of room for improvement and we know that in the South Central there will be many fast teams that race a lot and this is a point we are working on. We still have a lot of room for evolution.

In recent years, Brazil has been characterized by having a national team that combines experience and youth. Do you feel you still have a lot more to learn and demonstrate?

  • I am certainly very grateful for this opportunity to be part of the Brazilian national team at my young age. It is very positive to share the experience with the rest of the players, there are so many teammates who have a lot of competitions and experience, and I like to learn from them.with them.them.

South Central at home

Brazil is undergoing intense preparation for the upcoming South Central Senior Championship in Niteroi in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

What are your expectations, since in addition to the title to defend there are places at stake for the next World Cup?

  • Expectations are as high as possible, first because I am happy that the competition is in our country. It has been a long time since we last competed at home, so having the public, our families cheering in the stands and vibrating with us, will undoubtedly be special.A lot of expectation to do my best and make some incredible games. I know the responsibility I have to defend one of the places for the World Cup. We are very focused on the competition and we are going to give our best to win.

The SCA Senior Women’s Handball Championship will put at stake 3 places for the World Cup in Germany/Netherlands 2025. Six teams will compete for the ticket to the World Cup.
