STATEMENTS
Viviana Hergatacorzian, player of the Uruguayan National Team:
“We knew it was going to be a tough game, that we were both playing for qualification to the World Cup, it was a direct rival.
We prepared for a long time, many months. I am very happy that we were able to achieve it and to play our game. This victory means everything, it is one more step, one foot inside the World Cup. We will do everything we can to try to qualify, it is our dream and we are on our way.
María Paula Fernández, player of the Paraguayan National Team:
“Unfortunately we lost, the first half was very tight, it could have been either one or the other and we ended up tying.
In the second, I think the difference was in the effectiveness of their goalkeeping. We had the chance to go up but we missed goals that were important. They had more back than us, we tried to give them attitude.
I think Uruguay was bigger than us today. We have to keep working, tomorrow we have to go out to win if we want to go to the World Cup.
