Brazil overcame Uruguay in the SCA Senior. The CT Niteroi Stadium was the scene of an exciting closing of the day in the South Central Senior Women’s Championship. Brazil defeated Uruguay with authority by 34-20.
First half: Brazilian dominance and Uruguayan effort
From the beginning, Brazil set the pace of the match, standing out in defense with an effectiveness of 31%, compared to Uruguay’s 22%.
Although the Uruguayans had some outstanding moments, such as the saves by their goalkeeper in the first half, they were unable to halt the home team’s offensive impetus. The partial score was 17-9 in favor of Brazil.
Second half: Brazil came out to win
Uruguay adjusted their defense, but it was not enough to reverse the difference. Leonardo Puñales’ players kept their intensity and closed the match with a clear 34-20.
The top scorers of the match were Bruna de Paula and Ana Claudia Bolzan of Brazil, with five goals each.
Ana Claudia Bolzan was recognized as the player of the match, reaffirming her outstanding performance.

Ana Claudia Bolzan, player of the Brazilian National Team: “I am very happy because today we managed to make a good debut at home, at the beginning we were a little nervous because of the first game, but we managed to set our rhythm.
It is very nice to feel the warmth of home with our fans.”
Sabrina Grieco, player of the Uruguayan National Team: “We believe we were up to the task, we set goals and one was to reach 20 goals and we achieved it.
We came with a very solid and renewed group, with good ideas. We are left with a positive feeling.
