Handebol Taubaté finished eighth at the Club World Cup held in Cairo, Egypt. The team led by André Vinicius Mendes Silva was the South American representative at the World Cup.
Taubaté finished eighth in the competition, the title went to Veszprém HC who beat SC Magdeburg 34-33 in the final. Third place went to Al Alhy Sporting Club who beat FC Barcelona 32-29.

In the group stage, Taubaté lost 25-30 to Zamalek Club and then lost 43-17 to Veszprém HC. In the crossings for the definition of places, it did not manage to conquer a victory.

The player Guilherme Miguel Laranjeiro Torriani, was present for the first time at the Club World Cup: “It was my first opportunity to participate, in 2022 with Taubaté we conquered the title in Buenos Aires, Argentina but I was transferred to Europe and in that opportunity I could not participate in the Super Globe in Arabia, I am happy to have participated in such a great championship….”. “Unfortunately we didn’t have the results we expected, we knew the difficulties of facing the teams we had in the group. The champion team was in our group and we knew about their technical quality. We could not get the victory against Zamalek, we had entered a lot to try to beat them”, Torriani commented.

Handebol Taubaté played the Brazilian Confederation competition prior to the Club World Cup, which caused them a significant physical strain, but Torriani said that this is not an excuse, “We are happy to have participated and we are already training and thinking about next year”.
