The semifinalists in the SCA U16 Handball have been defined! The emotions were lived to the fullest at the COP Arena and the CEO Olympic Training Center.
The semifinalists in the Handball SCA U16, Asunción 2024 were defined.
Argentina vs Uruguay male
To start day 3, there was an exciting match between Argentina and Uruguay, where the team coached by Pablo Robledo achieved a close 24-23 victory. Matteo Punzo was the undisputed scorer of the match, scoring 11 goals.
The Argentine team dominated most of the game, and although they reached halftime with a 16-12 lead, Uruguay fought until the end, reducing the difference in the last minutes, but could not manage to tie.
With this victory, Argentina qualified for one of the semifinals where it will face Chile and Uruguay will play Brazil.
Chile vs Paraguay B female
In the women’s Paraguay B clearly defeated Chile, with a final score of 22-9. The scorers of the match were Abigail Caceres and Jazmin Iturbe, each with 4 goals.
Despite a promising start by Chile, where they remained competitive, Paraguay B showed a superior performance in the second half, consolidating their dominance in the game.
Brazil vs Uruguay female
Brazil took the 26-17 win over Uruguay, withJulieta Villar standing out as the Uruguayan top scorer with 7 goals. Brazil’s tactics, which combined fast counterattacks and aggressive defense, proved key.
Although the Charrúa team showed good effectiveness on the wings, it was not enough against the solid Brazilian defensive organization.
With this victory, the Brazilian team will play one of the semifinals this Friday against Paraguay A.
Peru vs Paraguay B male
The team coached by Jonathan Ibarra obtained its first victory of the tournament by defeating Paraguay B 30-19, with Nicolás Sevillano standing out as the scorer of the match with 8 goals.
Peru used an attack based on team play and fast ball circulation, which allowed them to open up space and create clear scoring opportunities, while their defense limited Paraguay B’s options.
Brazil vs Paraguay A Men’s
Brazil secured its leadership in the group by defeating Paraguay A 29-19. The first half was close, ending 15-12 in favor of the Brazilians, who played an effective pivot game to destabilize the rival’s defense.
Although Paraguay A showed good defense, they were unable to contain the pace of the Verdeamarelos in the second half. Brazil reached the semifinals and will face Uruguay.
Paraguay A vs Argentina female
The end of the day was full of excitement, with Argentina achieving a narrow 23-20 victory over Paraguay A, where Ana Paula Jara was the top scorer with 7 goals.
The Albicelestes, by implementing a solid defense, complicated Paraguay A’s attack, which improved in the second half, although they were unable to equalize the score.
With this result, Argentina advances to the semifinals as group leader and will play Uruguay. Paraguay A will face Brazil in the other semifinal.
