SCA U14 Handball in action!. The second day of the tournament that is being played in Asunción, Paraguay, ended. The COP Arena lived a new day full of goals and emotions.
SUMMARY DAY 2
The men’s national team of Brazil and Paraguay B opened Wednesday’s match. The match started evenly until Brazil was able to take advantage of Paraguay’s offensive mistakes and started to take off little by little from the scoreboard.
Green and yellow team went to the break with a 7-goal lead and managed to hold it in the second half , ending the match 25-26.
Arthur Lima and Miguel Olivera of Brazil scored 10 and 8 goals respectively. On the Paraguayan side, José Cañete was the top scorer with 9 goals.
Second match of the day Argentina and Paraguay A
It was a victory for the Albiceleste by 28 to 24, adding their second consecutive victory. The first 10 minutes were for the team led by Ruben Busolin, scoring a partial of 3 to 0.
They were able to sustain their virtues in attack and the first half ended 13 to 7.
During most of the second half Argentina was leading the game by 8 goals. With 5 minutes left in the second half, Paraguay came out with great momentum.
This, added to shots on the posts by the Argentineans, allowed the Paraguayan boys to reduce the score to 4 goals.
Chile and Brazil female
It was a match that always had the Brazilian team on top of the scoreboard. Great saves by Brazil’s goalkeeper, Alice de Morales, prevented the team from getting closer to the scoreboard.
In addition, Chile was unable to take advantage of the unforced errors made by the Brazilians. The green and yellow team defended the difference they achieved in the first half and made Chile uncomfortable in attack.
Was a victory for Alejandro Bazán’s team 26 to 18. The scorer of the match was player Sofía Toscano with 8 conversions.
Argentina and Paraguay B Female
Despite facing the locals, the Albiceleste team had control of the match from start to finish. They were able to manage their attack very well and the scoring was distributed among all their players.
They finished the first half 9 goals ahead of their opponents and managed to increase the score even more, ending the game with a 12-goal difference.
It was a 25-13 win for Argentina. The scorer of the match was Ayelen Rojas of Paraguay with 4 goals.
Uruguay and Chile Men
The trans-Andean team clearly dominated the entire match. The first half was more even and counted with the great performance of Nicolas Campiglia of Paraguay, who later would be the scorer of the match with 7 conversions.
In spite of this, Chile’s game was dominated by the collective and this prevailed over the individuals of the Guarani team. The first half ended 16-11 in favor of Chile.
Second half, they were able to improve their performance significantly, managing to widen the difference in the score considerably. It was a victory for the Chilean National Team 37 to 20.
Uruguay and Paraguay A Female
The hosts started the match with a 4-0 lead in the first ten minutes. Uruguay tried to gain rhythm, but the very good Guarani defense caused a lot of one-on-one situations with the Uruguayan goalkeeper.
In the second half, the Charruas were more organized and took advantage of the Paraguayan team’s offensive mistakes.
However, this was not enough as Paraguay’s defense together with their fast and precise play allowed them to take the match. It was a victory for Paraguay A by 27 to 14.
