Brazilian national team is finalist of the SCA U16 Men’s Handball Championship. On the fourth day of the most important tournament in America, the green and blue team faced each other in the semifinals.
In an exciting match from start to finish, the last champion took the victory and thus the Brazilian team is a finalist of the SCA U16 Men’s Handball.
Brazil vs Uruguay
The first minutes of the game were very intense, making the match back and forth. Thanks to the Uruguayan wingers, the sky-blue team quickly took a 2-0 lead.
However, Brazil, which is strong in the game with its pivot, was able to make up some ground to keep up with its rival.
As the minutes went by, the Brazilians were decreasing their offensive mistakes. The fast play of both teams caused turnovers and bad passes in the attack.
The green and yellow team made fewer mistakes and therefore went to the break with a 10-9 lead.

Then, start of the second half was just as exciting as the first, with quick transitions and goals in both halves.
With just over 8 minutes elapsed, Uruguay managed to tie the score at 12 after shooting with an empty net. The sky-blue team was able to take advantage of the extra man to keep the game tied.
With 15 minutes left in the game, the Uruguayan attack was imprecise in their shots and the Brazilian defense forced them to make mistakes.
Otherwise in addition, Brazil did not miss any shots and managed to take a 2-goal lead.
At times, Nicolas Sintas’ team came within one goal of tying the game, but Brazil immediately got back to within two goals.
Uruguay fought until the end but could not take away the unbeaten record of its rival.
Finally the match ended 20 to 18 in favor of the green and yellow team, qualifying the last champion to the final of the SCA U16 Handball SCA, where it will seek to defend the title obtained in 2022.
The scorers of the match were Eduardo Rodrigues of Brazil (9) and Matteo Punzo of Uruguay (5).

“This semifinal with Uruguay was a very difficult game, we ended up winning by 2 goals. They are a good team, we had a lot of difficulties, but we made it to the final which is what I think everyone wanted.”
Mateo Palacios, player of the Uruguayan National Team:
“We lost the semifinal by details, but it is a very big pride to represent Uruguay. We fought every match, now we are going for the third place and we are going to give our all as in every match”.
