Here is a summary of day 2 of the competition:
Paraguay B vs Brasil femenino
The day began with an exciting Group A match, in which Paraguay B surprised Brazil, the reigning champions, with a narrow 20-18 victory.
The first half was dominated by Brazil, who took advantage of their speed in counter-attacks and the strength of their players, taking a slight lead into the break.
However, in the second half, the team coached by Victor Figueredo began to find spaces in the Brazilian defense and the match became a goal-to-goal duel.
It was in the 23rd minute when Paraguay took the definitive lead, with key saves by goalkeeper Alessandra Perez. Jazmín Iturbe was the top scorer of the match with 5 goals for Paraguay, while Gabriela Ríos led the Brazilian attack with 4 goals.
With this match, the local team wins its first victory in the tournament and pulls off a surprise by defeating the champions.

Peru, which is still in the process of adapting to sub continental competitions, could not stop the powerful Argentinean attack.

Peru vs Uruguay male
In the men’s team, Uruguay showed absolute dominance over Peru in their Group B match, winning 35-16.
From the start, the Uruguayans imposed their game with a 5-0 partial, supported by a compact defense that limited Peru’s attacking options.
The first half ended with a resounding 21-4 in favor of Uruguay, highlighting its tactical solidity both in the defensive phase and in quick counterattacks, taking advantage of the opponent’s turnovers. Matteo Punzo was the star of the match, scoring 11 goals. On the Peruvian side, Carlos Céspedes stood out with 7 goals. This victory reaffirms the power of the Uruguayan team, which is positioned as one of the favorites in the tournament.
Paraguay B vs Argentina male
In the other key of Group B, Argentina showed its superiority against Paraguay B, winning with a resounding 50-19.
Although the beginning of the match was even, Argentina gradually established its rhythm and made clear its intention of not settling for the runner-up position.
The Albiceleste team was effective in their positional attacks, combining a solid ball circulation which allowed them to go to the break with a 23-10 advantage. Lautaro Roa, Juan Pallero and Tomás Formini were the top scorers with 7 goals each.
In the second half, Pablo Robledo’s team kept up the intensity, executing quick and effective transitions that widened the difference on the scoreboard. The locals had difficulties to stop the Argentine counterattacks and could not find tactical solutions to stop the offensive power of their rival.
With this result, the albiceleste has won for the second time in the tournament and has secured its place in the semifinals, consolidating its position as one of the strongest teams in the competition.

In the second half, Uruguay significantly improved their effectiveness in shots, both from the wings and in counterattacking situations, which allowed them to increase the difference in the scoreboard. Julieta Villar was the top scorer of the match with 4 goals. Chile tried to close the gap, but found it difficult to overcome the compact Uruguayan defense.
