Chile achieves second win against Greenland in Junior World Cup

Chile achieves second win against Greenland in Junior World Cup in China. Tomorrow, the “Lobitas” will face Guinea in a crucial duel to define the 29th/30th place.

Greenland, which had no victories in the world championship, faced a Chile team that came in with one win to its credit. In a well-balanced match, the teams disputed the definition of the 29th to 32nd places.

Despite a difficult start, where Greenland took the lead, Chile showed its resilience and took control of the game.

The outstanding performance of Renata Lizana, who scored eight goals with an efficiency of 67% and was elected the MVP of the match, was key for the South Americans to come back and maintain control, ending the first half 13-11 in their favor.

Second half remained tight, however, the speed and precision in the counterattacks of José Tham’s team began to make the difference.

Greenland, meanwhile, continued to look for space, but the Chilean defense held firm, preventing the Europeans from cutting the lead at key moments in the second half. The game ended with an important 29-22 victory for Chile.
