Brazil showed its superiority and determination against Spain and won an exciting match on the first day of handball competition at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The team led by Cristiano Rocha dominated from the first minutes and maintained its rhythm and control until the last second, closing the match with a final score of 29-18.
With a long distance shot Mireya González opened the scoring for Spain at the Arena Paris Sur 6, but the Brazilian team’s answer was not long in coming.
Gabriela Moreschi’s tremendous save on a strong shot by “Las Guerreras” led to a quick counterattack that culminated in a 4-2 lead for Cristiano Rocha’s team in the first five minutes of the match.
The outstanding performance of the Brazilian goalkeeper, combined with an aggressive defense, limited the Spanish players’ opportunities and allowed Brazil to maintain a four-goal lead for most of the first half.
At the end of the first half, Brazil led 15-10.
The second half was better for Brazil
The second half was even better for the green-and-white team that, characterized by their power, made use of their resources all over the field, reaching a 10-goal difference.
In the end, Brazil showed total dominance and won 29-18 against Spain, in a resounding debut at Paris 2024.
