This July 27th, 28th and 29th the Beach Handball exhibition action will start in the city of Créteil, France. The Duvauchelle Stadium will host the best in the world, with 11 players from South America representing Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay, as well as coach Leticia Brunati.
The experienced player from Brazil, Nathalie Sena, who currently plays for the Associação Desportiva Maricaense club, will be part of the “LYRA” team at the Beach Handball Showcase. The following Brazilians were also called up Carolina Pires Militão, Renata Da Silva Santiago and Patricia Scheppa.
Outstanding participations
The Brazilian women’s Beach Handball team has had an outstanding 2024 with outstanding participations in international competitions. In April, they were crowned champions of the South Central Tournament in Asunción; in May, they won the first stage of the Global Tour circuit; and recently, they reached 8th place in the world championship in China.
Regarding the World Cup Nathalie Sena reflected: “We failed to reach our goal and suffered an early elimination.”
“The level of competition is very high and we knew that any team could come out on top in the quarterfinals.”
- In a few days you will be in France with the best players in the world participating in the Beach Handball Showcase How did you get the invitation?to participate? What are your expectations?
“I received the news officially from the IHF and it was an incredible moment of great happiness for me, to be present in Paris, with the best players and to present our sport to the world is a great dream.to be present in Paris, with the best players and to present our sport to the world is a great dream.”
“I’m sure it will be a great party, with super athletes and many spectacular plays. Of that I have no doubt, it will be fantastic.”
- Do you know the LYRA team players?Do you think that in Los Angeles 2028 beach handball will be Olympic?
“I know almost all of the athletes and I am ready to represent alongside them for the LYRA team.”
“I want to believe that Beach Handball will be in Los Angeles 2028. We hope that the world will know about our sport and that it will soon enter the Olympic Games.”

The main objective will be to disseminate and make the discipline visible, the showcase will be an excellent opportunity to demonstrate that Beach Handball is ready to enter the Olympic Games in 2028.
