Brazil and Chile to compete in the Wheelchair Handball World Cup

The draw for the third edition of the IHF Wheelchair Handball World Championship was held. It will be held in Cairo, Egypt, from September 16 to 21, 2024 and will feature the teams of Brazil and Chile in competition.

The draw was held in Basel, Switzerland, at the IHF headquarters. Egypt, as host, had the right to choose the group, the African power will be in Group B along with Chile. While defending champions Brazil will be in Group A.

France was assigned to Group A, while Portugal (champion in 2022) was assigned to Group B. The groups were formed as follows:

Competition system

All teams from the preliminary round will advance to the quarterfinals. The winners of the four quarterfinals will advance to the semifinals, and the knockout phase will conclude with the medal matches, the final and the bronze match.
