Argentina suffers its second defeat at Paris 2024

The Argentine national team lost 25-35 to Hungary on the second day of Group B at Paris 2024.
After a close first half, mistakes and red cards destabilized the Argentine team, which could not stop the Hungarian advance.
Despite the defeat, they still have a chance to advance in the tournament.

The first half started with Hungary taking the lead after a quick goal from 9 meters by Zsolt Ancsin.
However, Argentina responded with determination, showing an organized offense that allowed them to tie the score thanks to a goal by Federico Fernandez.

As the minutes ticked by, the pace of the game increased, with goals being exchanged and stout defense from both teams.

In the final minutes of the first half, errors in the accuracy of the passes and fouls in the Albiceleste defense allowed the Hungarians to extend the lead by 5 goals and go to the break 12-17 in favor of the Europeans.

A second half with red cards

During the first ten minutes of the second half, the Hungarians did not allow Argentina to react, the aggressive defense added to a series of saves by their goalkeeper, Kristóf Palasics, allowed the Europeans to take advantage of quick counterattacks and increase the difference.

Hungary’s efficiency was 70%, missing 15 of the 50 shots taken in the entire game.

The Argentine players, James Parker and Ignacio Pizarro, received red cards, which caused the team to become disorganized and failed to respond to the adversity in the second half of the game.
In the end, it was a defeat forto the the team coached by Guillermo Milano 25-35 against Hungary. The next match will be on July 31 at Arena 6 Paris Sud from 16.00 hours.
