The Arena Paris Sud 6 where the Brazil women’s and Argentina men’s teams play is part of the so-called Expo Paris. It is one of the busiest exhibition and convention centers in Europe and one of the most visited in France.
The site chosen for the handball competition and other sports disciplines such as weightlifting, table tennis and volleyball welcomes the lovers of these sports who fill the stands on each day of competition.
Expo Paris turned into an Olympic venue
The complex has 35 hectares, exhibition halls and eight pavilions that operate throughout the year with exhibitions, shows, fairs and conventions. The Arena Paris Sud was built in 1923 to host the Paris Fair.
Over the years, the venue has grown and is currently adapted to a wide range of requirements and modalities. This time it will be the Olympic Games.
Sports competitions will be held in Pavilions 1, 4 and 6, which will host thousands of visitors. In addition, there will be many and close to tourist attractions such as the Eiffel Tower, Champ de Mars or the Bois de Boulogne.
Other nearby venues include the Roland Garros Stadium, the Parc des Princes, the Pierre de Coubertin Stadium, the Eiffel Tower Stadium and the Champ de Mars Arena.
Handball by sessions
The women’s handball competition will start on July 25 and the men’s competition on July 27. The matches will be divided into sessions with two games each, which means 6 games per day in the group stage. Check the handball calendar! Handball in Paris 2024
