The 24th edition of the IHF Women’s Junior World Championship begins on Wednesday 19 June and will be attended by 3 teams representing South and Central America. Brazil, Argentina and Chile will seek to compete at the highest level in Macedonia.
The national teams arrived in the European country in good time to train and prepare for their respective debuts.
Margarida Conte, coach of the Brazilian national team told us the importance of arriving a week earlier to Macedonia to be able to adapt and play friendly games before the World Cup. “This is very important, the squad has experienced players and some new ones who are making their debut, we always think that it is important to renew the squad and that everyone can participate. The group has been responding very well,” said Conte.said Conte.
“We have high expectations of having a better World Cup than the last one. The European teams have a lot of experience and experience, but we are sure that we will have a very good championship,concluded the coach.
The debut of each team:
Argentina starts its participation against Hungary, bronze medalists of the 2022 World Cup and the last undefeated champions of the W19 EHF Euro. La Garrita, on the other hand, has just won the South Central Championship held in November 2023 in the city of Buenos Aires.
The Brazilian team meets Romania, which last year suffered its worst World Cup participation. On the side of the green and yellow team, it won the silver medal at the South Central American 2023.
The Chilean team makes its debut against Egypt, which reached the quarterfinals in the last edition of the World Cup, being one of the surprises. The Cub Scouts, on the other hand, will be participating for the fourth time in the World Championship.
