The 12th edition of the World Beach Games will be held in Chengdu, People’s Republic of China from August 7 to 17, 2025. The eight men’s and eight women’s teams that will compete have already been defined.
After the conclusion of the Beach Handball World Cup held in Pingtan, which granted qualification to the World Games, the teams that will participate in the 2025 edition were announced. It should be noted that beach handball is one of the more than 30 sports disciplines included in the event’s program.

To qualify for the World Games, teams must be the best in their continent and be among the top 12 teams in the 2024 IHF World Championship.
A little history of the World Games
The World Games are a multi-sport event organized every four years by the International World Games Association (IWGA) and supported by the International Olympic Committee.
Chengdu 2025 will be the twelfth edition of the World Games, the 2022 edition was held in July in Birmingham, USA. Beach handball has been part of the World Games since it was included as a guest in Japan in 2001. He was then in Germany (2005) and Chinese Taipei (2009). In 2013 in Colombia and in Poland (2017).
