Uruguay ready to dispute the Beach Handball World Cup. One day before the start of the 11th edition of the world championship that will last until June 23 on the island of Pingtan.
We talked to player Mauricio Santiago who tells us how the national team is arriving in Asia.
Charrúa Selection
The Uruguayan men’s national team is in China ready to compete in the World Cup, in Group D along with Germany, Qatar and the United States.
The Charrúa team is already familiar with their opponents, who have been working since March.
Prior competence
The first step was to compete in the South Central Championship played in Asunción, where they qualified for the World Cup with a third place finish.
Then the work continued and integrated a group of new young players for what was the stage of the Global Tour played in Maricá, several of these players made their first steps with the sky-blue.
Richard Bica, Matías Olheguy, Francisco Gallo, Mauricio Santiago, Andrés Miranda, Mauricio Gallo, Santiago Rodríguez, Rodrigo Pérez, Sebastián Sagasti and Fernando Sequeira traveled to the World Tournament.
“We know the three teams we played in the Group, we met them recently in the Global Tour and we know what they play.

Uruguay’s national team begins the competition against Germany on Tuesday, June 18, followed by a match against Qatar on Wednesday and the United States in the afternoon.
