Colegio Alemán of Uruguay and Taubaté met in the last match of the first day of the South Central American Club Handball South. The Brazilian team showed a clear superiority over its opponent, securing an important 47-15 victory.
The public waited expectantly at the Ginásio Emecal for the debut of the team from Taubaté. During the first half, the locals showed an aggressive and effective attack that easily penetrated the Uruguayan defense. With quick moves and impeccable coordination, Dimas Lara men repeatedly found the way to the goal, leaving the rival defense unresponsive and establishing a significant lead from the first minutes of the match. The first half ended 23-8 in favor of Taubaté.
In the second half, the dynamics and rhythm did not change, the precision of the passes and effectiveness in attack allowed the locals to extend their lead even further.
Despite Colegio Alemán efforts to close the gap, they were thwarted by a solid Brazilian wall. Taubaté closed the spaces effectively, thus limiting the opportunities to generate offensive plays. The game ended with a 47-15 victory for Taubaté.
The MVP of the match was Washigton Santos of Taubaté.
