Sedalo vs Jockey Club de Córdoba faced each other in the second day of the South Central Club Championship. A match that started evenly but Sedalo’s team was able to score and block the rival to win 33 to 19.
The match started erratically for Sedalo and an outstanding performance in the first minutes by the goalkeeper of the Cordoba team, Veronica Guerrico. Jockey Club managed to maintain a 2 goal difference until the 15th minute, however, the saves of Candelaria Cuadrado de Sedalo allowed the game to be more even. With 8 minutes left in the first half, the Buenos Aires team took the lead. They were able to settle into the game and put all their experience to good use, ending the first half 14-10 in their favor.
During the second half, Sedalo deployed all its offensive power and in this way managed to stretch the difference even further. Jockey’s attacking failures allowed the rival to counterattack and score to win 33-19. Candelaria Cuadrado of Sedalo was elected the MVP of the match.
Declaraciones post partido:
Manuela Pizzo, Sedalo player: “The game was good, at the beginning it was a little difficult for us because it was the first game, the new field, I think the girls played very well. In the second half we were looser, we had fewer losses, fewer misses on goal. We never lowered our intensity and that’s why we made such a big difference”.
Verónica Guerrico player of Jockey Club Córdoba: “We started very well in the first half, both in defense and offense. Our priority was always defense, with outlets so they wouldn’t break us with shots from the outside. In the last 10 minutes of the second half, we lacked speed, head and precision. That worked against us, but we came out knowing what we have to correct”.
