Goes triumphs in the debut of the South Central American Clubs Championship

Goes of Uruguay and Ferro Carril Oeste of Argentina kicked off the second day of the HSCA Senior Women’s Club Championship. Positive balance in the debut of the Uruguayan team, which won 30-23.

Lucila Ailén Novas was the one who opened the score in favor of Ferro, but it would only take a couple of seconds for the Uruguayans to respond quickly. The first minutes of play reflected an even game.

With a game characterized by their fast starts, added to the great performance of their goalkeeper Viviana Hergatacorzian, Goes took control of the first half that ended 15-13 in favor of the Uruguayans.

The goal-to-goal dynamic continued in the second half with a slight advantage for Goes, which was able to sustain a 5-goal difference for most of the game. In the end, the Uruguayan team won 30-23.

With this result, Goes has its first two points in the standings and tomorrow will look for the top of the table when it faces River Plate, which has 0 points. While Ferro Carril Oeste ends the group phase with 2 points and is waiting for the result of the River vs Goes match.

Sabrina Grieco, Goes player: “We came to play the first two important finals, we managed to pull out the first one. It was a tough game from the beginning to the end, we did our job, we did what the coach presented and we were able to win the game”.
