The Brazilian teams were crowned champions in both male and female teams in the city of Maricá, Brazil, where Stage 1 of the Global Beach Handball Tour was held.
A total of 40 matches were played in the Brazilian city based in the state of Rio de Janeiro. There were 20 matches per branch. Hosts Brazil, along with Argentina, the United States of America and Uruguay fielded men’s and women’s teams, with Germany and Qatar competing in the men’s event and Portugal and Puerto Rico in the women’s event.
In the final, Brazil defeated Argentina in the ladies for the second consecutive year, adding seven consecutive victories on its way to first place in the competition. Brazilian player Beatriz Cruz scored 18 points in the first 2-0 (24:4, 14:12) win over Puerto Rico, then scored 20 in the 2-0 (18:10). 24:14) on Uruguay.
The third victory was a 2-0 win over the United States (24:4, 26:2). In the last two preliminary matches, Brazil had to go to penalties. Portugal won the first set, but then missed their first three shots in the penalty shootout and the home team secured a 2-1 victory (24:25, 19:10, SO 7:4).
At the end of the round-robin, Brazil topped the group with 10 points with five wins, Argentina finished second (8 points, 4 wins), Uruguay (3/2), Portugal (2/4), Puerto Rico ( 1/2) and the United States (0/0).
Both semifinals were one-sided: Argentina beat Uruguay 2-0 (30:18, 20:18) and Brazil defeated Portugal 2-0 (24:12, 26:18) in front of some 1,400 spectators who enjoyed the day.

The Brazilian men’s team won their seven games and defended the 2023 title. In this new edition, they won six games by 2-0 scores and one game by shot out.
In the round-robin preliminary round, the hosts started with three consecutive 2-0 victories: against the USA (18:10, 24:12), Argentina (18:14, 23:20) and Uruguay (18:12, 20:8). With Germany, Brazil won 2-1 (16:19, 16:14, SO 7:4 ) thanks to 12 points from Nailson Amaral, who returned to national team action after being absent for the last few seasons. They concluded the preliminary round with a 2-0 (20:14, 18:8) win over Asian champions Qatar. In the final, more than 1,000 fans cheered on the Brazilian team, Amaral scored 12 points and Renan Carvalho 13 and they won the game against Germany 2-0 (19:16, 16:10).
