It’s time for the Beach Handball World Championship. From June 18 to 23, the 11th Beach Handball World Championships for men and women will be held in Pingtan, People’s Republic of China.
The matches will be played at the “Pingtan International Beach Sports Base” in Long Wangtou Ocean Park on Pingtan Island.
The draw began with the women’s group and the groups were formed as follows:
Brazil, which won the titles in 2006, 2012 and 2014, was drawn into Group D and will compete against the last two champions, Greece in 2018 and Germany in 2022.
Men’s Tournament
In the men’s category, China was selected for Group B, which also includes Brazil, Spain and Tunisia. Croatia, the current world champion, was placed in Group C, along with Puerto Rico, Portugal and Argentina.
Uruguay shares Group D with Germany, Qatar and the United States. The groups were drawn as follows:
Competition mode:
The tournament has 16 teams for each branch, divided into four groups of four teams each. The three best teams in each group (12 in total) move on to two main round groups of six teams each.
The four best in each group move on to the quarterfinals, then semifinals, bronze medal, qualification and final.
The last team in each of the four preliminary groups will move on to the consolation round.
