Great victory for Argentina over Chile at the start of the SCA Senior Beach Handball, Asunción 2024

This Wednesday, the South Central American Beach Handball Tournament began, held in Asunción, Paraguay, which in addition to the subcontinental title, grants 2 places for women and 3 for men in the World Cup to be played in China in June of this year. With the participation of five teams in the women’s category, the ‘Kamikazes’ debuted with a 2-0 victory against Chile.

Argentina defeated the Chilean team with authority at the start of the 3rd edition of the South Central American Beach Handball Tournament. The Kamikazes imposed their game and took the victory with sets 20-13 in the first set and 24-10 in the second.

The great performance of the Chilean goalkeeper in the first set prevented the difference for Argentina from being greater, but Agustina Mirotta’s effective lateral counterattack managed to filter the rival’s defense and thus keep the score in their favor during the first half. .

Already in the second set, the start was a little more even, the Chileans managed to be effective in the attack and equalize the score. However, those led by Leticia Brunetti took advantage of the small errors of the Chilean defense and demonstrated their superiority, expanding the difference to more than 10 goals. Great start for the ‘Kamikazes’ as they seek their place in the World Cup in China and be crowned champions.

In addition, the Paraguay vs. Uruguay teams were in charge of opening the field at the Olympic Committee with an exciting match that had to be defined in a shoot-out. The victory went to Paraguay by 2 sets to 1, with partial scores of 10-9, 10-11 and 5-4 in the shoot-out.
