Brazil defeated Chile in its debut in the Senior Tournament in Asunción

At the end of the women’s division, on the first day of competition in Asunción, Paraguay, the Brazilian team started on the right foot by beating Chile 2-0.

Brazil won against Chile with scores of 18-6 and 24-10, demonstrating all its potential, with an outstanding performance by the scorers Nathalie Souza, with 14 goals and Beatriz Correia with 16, were decisive for the victory. On the side of the trans-Andean team, Sofía Rojas was the top scorer with 6 points.

In the first set, Brazil had a high percentage of efficiency in their shots and a solid defense. Meanwhile, the Chilean National Team had difficulties with ball handling and definitions on goal, which prevented them from maintaining an even score.

During the second set the supremacy of the Verdeamarela was maintained, Chile could not improve its shots on goal and accumulated a large number of fouls in attacks. This was decisive so that the girls in red could not sustain a closer match in the result.

Sofía Magnini, player of the Chilean National Team: “The match was super entertaining, it is always a pleasure to play with great players. We gave it our all so I’ll stick with that, it was super intense, so I’m super happy”.
