From February 21 to March 4, handball will be the star in Managua, Nicaragua with the realization of the Handball SCA Men’s and Women’s Center 2023. There will be 11 teams that will step on the Gymnasium of Handball of the Nicaraguan Sports Institute with the objective of qualifying for the Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023.
Nicaragua, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Honduras and Guatemala are the teams that will be part of the men’s competition that will be played from February 21 to 25 with a modality all against all. Thus, the 5 teams will seek one of the two slots that the tournament delivers for San Salvador 2023, competition that will be key to qualify for the next Pan American Games that will be held in Santiago in October this year.
It should be noted that El Salvador, both male and female, has already secured its quota for the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games given its role as an organizing country. In the event that this nation occupies one of the two qualifying places, the quota will be given to who follows him in the final ranking of the tournament.
On the side of the women’s tournament, the competition will be held between 28 February and 4 March and the teams will seek a double ranking, since, according to the conversations that COSCABAL has had with IHF, this tournament will have the possibility to qualify to the World Cup in Denmark, Norway and Sweden 2023. The competition will be attended by El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Chile and Paraguay.
