Those summoned from Costa Rica for the World Cup qualifier

From January 25 to 29, Costa Rica will play its first South and Central American Handball Tournament in the city of Recife, Brazil. There, the ‘Ticos’ will seek to get into the top four in the table to achieve a historic qualification to the IHF World Cup Sweden and Poland 2023.

For this edition, the Costa Rican team is expected to be one of the big surprises of the competition, since they have just become champions of their region and could demonstrate a good level of play that reflects the development they have had in recent years at the helm of the coach, Alejandra Álvarez.

“This participation is a window of growth, both for the players, the coaching staff and the National Federation,” said Álvarez.

To achieve this goal, the Costa Rican team has already presented its official roster, which stands out for having many young players, with an average age of 23 years. The Central American team will leave for Brazilian lands this Sunday, January 23.
