Argentina and Chile faced each other today in an intense semifinal match of the Recife 2022 South American Handball Tournament, where the albiceleste team got its ticket to the final.
From the beginning, the Argentine team knew how to face a physically demanding match against the Chilean squad, which was coming off an intense match against Brazil in the fight for first place in group B. Thus, the Argentines managed to take a great advantage by closing the first half in a partial of 17 to 11.
Once the second half started, the Chileans came out with everything on the field, but it was difficult for them to close the gap on the scoreboard. Erwin Feuchtmann stood out in the Chilean team and was the most effective of its players.
Furthermore, the work of the Argentine goalkeepers, Juan Bar and Leonel Maciel, was key to preventing the Chileans from reaching them on the scoreboard. In this way, the Argentines won 36 to 24 and are already in the final, awaiting the result between Uruguay and Brazil.
Chile, in turn, will have to face the loser of that match to be able to get on the podium among the best in America.
