The Pre-Olympics are completing: Chile already knows its rivals and Brazil will have to wait for results to be able to compete for a ticket to Tokyo 2020.

The Olympic Games are on the horizon and with Argentina already qualified for having won the Pan American gold in Lima 2019, it remains to know the fate of the two remaining South American teams. Chile, silver medalist in the Pan American Games, must compete in one of the three Pre-Olympic Tournaments that grant two places, each, to the Land of the Rising Sun.

The team led by the Spanish Mateo Garralda already knows the rivals it will have to face: Norway, Spain and the Republic of Korea; The Scandinavian country being the venue where the qualifying quadrangular for Tokyo 2020 will be played.

The other two Pre-Olympic competitions will be held in France and Germany respectively, there are still selections to be defined. But there are European qualifiers: the French and Croatians will play the second, which will complete the African runner-up and the third in the European Championship. While the Germans and Swedes will participate in the remainder, along with the second European and whoever finishes in third place in the African Championship.

It should be noted that if any of the teams that finished between 2nd and 7th place in the World Cup manage to qualify for Tokyo 2020 through the continental tournament, their pre-Olympic place will be directly assigned to the team that finished in 8th place, or a later position. of Germany-Denmark 2019.

In this case, if Egypt, which finished in eighth place in Germany-Denmark, achieves the Olympic place by winning the African Tournament, Brazil will take its place in the Pre-Olympics for having finished in 9th place in the last World Cup.
Also, if any of the European teams qualified for the Olympic or Pre-Olympic Games manage to place among the best in the European Championship, their places will correspond to the best placed in the continental championship held.

The European and African tournaments will be held in January next year: the first, from the 10th to the 26th and will have three venues: Austria, Sweden and Norway. The second will have Tunisia as the host country and will be held from January 15 to 25.
