Colombia and Guatemala were crowned champions of the Challenge Trophy in Palmira

The Challenge Trophy South Central American Junior and Youth Women’s Handball championship concluded with complete success in Palmira, where four countries met: Costa Rica, Guatemala, French Guyana and Colombia. Tournament that awarded a place to the champion of each category in the Continental phase.

In the Youth category, Guatemala defeated Colombia 24-17, and won the title. In Junior, Colombia defeated Guatemala 27-21 and was crowned Champion.

A championship and a runner-up for the Colombian teams led by teachers Fernando González and Mónica Ospina, achieving an outstanding performance and also qualifying in Junior to the Continental Phase to be held next year.

In the Youth category, the French Guyana team took third place by beating Costa Rica 32-25. While in the Junior category, the French Guyana team also achieved third place after beating Costa Rica 28-26.
