Argentina finished 6th at the World Beach Games. The Argentine national team closed out its participation in Doha with a 2-0 loss to Poland and placed 6th.
Review and Participation
Although the Argentine national team played a good first set (losing 15:14), they were far from their best in the second set and suffered a 20:10 defeat that prevented them from finishing 5th at the World Beach Games.
In the first round, they defeated Denmark and Hungary, teams that won gold and bronze medals at the 2018 European Championships.
They also defeated Greece, the reigning world champions, in the fight for 5th place.
“I think we can give more and play better. I don’t think that was our best match or our ceiling”, said center Gisella Bonomi about the opening loss to Brazil.

Game Performance
Argentina’s offense was a mainstay throughout the week, with high points from Bonomi herself, and also on the wings with Agustina Mirotta and Fiorella Corimberto.
In addition, specialist Ivana Eliges stood out in the lead with assists and goals. There was a very good combination between the older and younger players.
The latter are fresh off winning gold at the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games under Leticia Brunati.
Finally, Florencia Bericio offered guarantees in defense and captain Celeste Meccia provided security, while Luciana Scordamaglia and Zoe Turnes are two barriers that constantly wear down the opposing attack.
