Brazil closed its participation in the World Cup in 12th place after losing to Sweden 36-30.
Both Brazil and Sweden had played matches the day before and came into the game with some fatigue. Brazil was in charge of the match against Sweden in the first 20 minutes, before the European team took the momentum. Brazil led by three goals after 10 minutes, 8:5, and remained ahead 12:10 at the 20-minute mark.
Four minutes later, Sweden had gone ahead by one and the Brazilians did not take advantage again. Brazil struggled to stay level and managed to equalize more than once at the opening of the second period.
However, when the fourth quarter began, Sweden had extended the score and closed the game 36-30. The top scorer of the game was the Swede Ludvig Jurmala Astrom, with seven goals.
