Brazil is six-time champion of the Pan American Games Lima 2019. The Brazilian Women’s Team was crowned champion Pan American after defeating Argentina 21-30.
The match was played at the National Sports Village (VIDENA) in Lima, Peru. Brazil maintained its American dominance and secured a continental spot for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The starting lineup for the green and yellow team consisted of goalkeeper Barbara Arenhart, wingers Larissa Araújo and Mariana Costa, center Tamires Araújo, and setters Ana Paula Rodrigues, Eduarda Amorim, and Deonise Fachinello.
First Half: Goal by Goal
In the first minute of the game, Duda opened the scoring for Brazil, and the play of the green and yellow squad forced Argentine coach Jorge Dueñas to call a timeout in the 16th minute when the Argentines took a two-goal lead.
Meanwhile, the Brazilian national team substituted Renata Arruda at goal.
However, Dueñas called another timeout with the score at 11-0 in favor of Argentina. With 28 seconds left, left back Larissa Araújo tied the first half at 12-12.
Second Half for Brazil as Champion
At the start of the second half, Brazil extended their lead with four consecutive goals.
With 10 minutes remaining in the match, Brazil managed to maintain their six-goal lead and better control the game by rotating the ball at their own pace.
In the final minute, the score was 19-29 in favor of Brazil. The match ended 21-30, crowning the Brazilians with the gold medal.
Winger Adriana de Castro was the top scorer with 27 goals in five matches.

Finally, in the bronze medal match, Cuba defeated the United States 24 (13) – (12) 23.
